"We never really own a dog as much as he owns us".
Gene Hill, Brown Dog,Tears & Laughter
Each
Neapolitan Mastiff on our premises has been a challenge (long years searching; and mostly is the first pick of the litter). All our neos are inside living, AKC registered and AKC DNA -d, microchiped and proper taken care of.
We do not breed "sharpei -" or monsterous looking Neapolitan Mastiff dogs, because "too much" is as incorrect as "not enough"; we do not use dogs with 2-4 years life span in our program. If you want a monsterous looking dog, study up first what kind of vet bills you will be looking at in future.
Remember
The Neapolitan Mastiff breed was named "Neapolitan Mastiff" (requires big size, big bones, massiveness), it was not named "Neapolitan Sharpei" or "Neapolitan Midget" !
The dog of the Chinese Sharpei or Basset Hound size IS NOT a Mastino, do not forget it (though recently is used to be advertised as "True Italian Style" by some who have "suffered" from the kennel blindness, have never been abroad USA, never seen or participate in any dog show abroad with Neapolitan Mastiff TOP dogs in the ring with over 100 +++ entries from the different countries).
BEWARE ! It is better if you can take a trip to buy your puppy, so could see the dogs and how they are taken care of in person ! In many cases what looks impressive on the picture is 85 lbs aka Italian style (the basset hound
You could find very different names to the Neapolitan Mastiff breed in different sites, countries and places, some of them are correct and some are incorrect. Here they are: Neapolitan Mastiff, Neo, Neos, Neopolitan Mastiff, Blue Mastiff, Bull Blue Mastiff, Italian Mastiff, Mastim, Mastin, Matin, Cane Mastino, Il Mastino, Neo mastino, Mastino Napoletano, Neapolitan Mastino, Napoletan Mastiff, Napuletan dog, Napolitan mastim, Molosser, Molossoid, Moloss, Molosso Italiano, Mastim napoletano, Neapolskych mastinu, Italian Mastim, Napoleon Mastiff, Molosser, Italian Molosser, War dog, Quardian dog, Napoli Mastiff, Blue mastif, Bull mastiff, Italia Mastiff, Italia Mastino, Mastim, Mastin, Matin, Ruoko Mastino, Il Mastino, Neo mastino, Mastino Napoletano, Napoli Mastino, Napuletan koira, Napolitan mastim, Il mastino, Molossoid koira, Matin de Naples, Neapolsky mastin, Mastim Napolitano, Moloss, Molossoid, etc.
Sized) "neapolitan mastiff", who is full of health problems and DQ faults visually, ill and incapable to get up and walk, but has been bred because has a pulse and reproductive system.
If you want a smaller sized dog - get another dog breed, but don`t do experiments with the Neapolitan Mastiff breed making it a miniature kind.
It does not matter
how many years of health guarantee is promised to the buyer, because IMHO when you breed the Neapolitan Mastiff stock with severe case of dysplasia on all 4 legs, you should provide a life time financial support on the monthly basis. Also the Neapolitan Mastiff breeding stock must live a little bit LONGER than 2-3 years !
Yes -
the dog breeds have been changing and the dog Neapolitan Mastiff still MUST BE functional and meet the breed standard; because whatever does not meet the standard (tail length, heights, weight, etc is considered to be the substandard dogs, read more on the information pages)
Correctness, health, functionality and a life span - is what important to us.
The kennel name Wild Child was officially registered in FCI (Federation Cynologique Internationale Kennel Club (For Dogs Worldwide) a few years ago.
In America
our Neos` location is in a few States, and AKC registration only (all the rest registrations in USA are invalid, considering the acceptance by the main KC
Main Kennel clubs in other countries). We work (own / co-own and show Neapolitan Mastiff dogs internationally (different countries).
